"Shakespeare once said that all the world's a stage. That may be so. But for me, all the world is an amazing journey and adventure that I take with others through my art. Each canvas is a new voyage; one of mystery and discovery.
Some of my earliest childhood memories were those of my grandmother and I waiting for the tide to go out so we could collect mussels on the rocky California shore. There are so many adventures to be had where the air smells like salt and the ebb and flow of the sea gently reminds us of who we are. Infinite! In color, design and joy. Many of my works center around water because adventures start so easily there. The canvases are like a permanent vacation that one escapes to when they find time for that still and quiet space within." - Jody Wright
I love the strength of women and their powerful journeys. In this painting, I use the seagull - who symbolizes freedom and independence, as a companion on her quest to find herself.
