Ikkyou  is part of the Striving Series of Sculptures. It joins other sculptures that include: Eihei, Gambari, Kourin, Kyouko,  Noboru, Seidai, Shikou, and  Toorimichi.

Ikkyou remains one of my favorite sculptures.  It is a sculpture that appears to be moving aggressively forward with authority. Ikkyou is edgily feisty.  Ikkyou always seemed to embody a complex person who was rushing to their next appointment.

The Striving Series is composed of sculptures that either are inspiring (by trying to motivate you onward) or strong (conveying an attitude of not backing down).
